Caravanning to the North of Western Australia - Coral Bay

Hi all

Here are a couple of pics from our trip so far to Coral Bay in the North West of Australia(about 1,200km north of Perth). We love our Rangie and take her everywhere! We've had a few people along the way ask how we have made it so far without breaking down. Toyota drivers with no character or sense of adventure we assume.

We are heading in to the soft sand on the coral bay beaches tomorrow to do some snorkelling so will post some pics!

We once sold a Geist Caravan to a guy in Oz. Shipped it from UK to Newcastle. He was a happy chappy as it saved him a fortune. Also on Oz caravanning used to love the Gall Boys caravanning adventure's on Youtube Thumbs Up Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

Just a question not strictly FFRR related, why is the CB antenna mounted on the front like that. It would annoy me Censored to have it in my field of view. Why not install it on the rear or roof ?? Is that because of reception (to close to the body on the rear) or damage risk (roof i.e. branches of trees) ?????

I have noticed that these antennas are usually installed on the front but never understood why.

Brilliant pictures again, maybe I need to convince my lovely wife that Oz is a great place to retire to instead of Southern Africa Wink Smile Smile MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

antenna is mounted on the front bullbar or a bracket on the frame under the bonnet Eugene..this way you dont have to drill holes in the roof.. ... - .- -.

Thanks for the comments gents. We often reflect on just how fortunate we are to have such beautiful countryside on our doorstep, and moreso that we are able to get out and enjoy it.

Re the aerial mount, Stan is absolutely correct. That's where it is mounted, on a bracket from the front bar. The primary reason for it mounted down low in lieu of on the roof, or at least projecting beyond the roof line for me, is so that I can leave it attached and not have it prohibit me from entering my garage or low underground car parks in the city. To be honest, I don't really notice it there! my wife occasionally complains, but that's just white noise to me Wink

Forgot to clarify, That forward look pic is taken from the passengers side. The CB aerial does actually look quite obstructive there Shocked from the captains seat, no such issue.

Fantastic pictures!

I should have gone there when I was living in Karratha, but didn't make the time. Photos such as yours really make me want to head to Perth permanently. Si. <This is my name.
