Just back from holiday with our caravan! Read the manual and I'm sure it tells me that, when I connect the black 7 pin plug, the trailer symbol should flash in unison with the indicator arrow??
Trailer symbol lights up on my dash continually but doesn't flash when the indicators are switched on! Is this right???

Yep - I have the same model & year - mine stays constantly illuminated as long as the trailer is attached

I've just fitted a new witter towbar, and genuine JLR plug and play 13 pin electrics, to my recently bought MY2006 RR vogue se. When I connected up, the RH & LH indicators, didn't make the green trailer light on the dash flash in time with the normal indicators, and it stays lit up all the time whist the 13 pin is connected up. Disconnect the plug, green lights goes out.
After reading the handbook, it stated that it should flash in time with the normal indicators, so as a check to ensure that there was some sort of non working warning, I disconnected a bulb on the back of the caravan, then, it flash's really quickly, letting you no that all least 1 bulb has stopped working.
So it sort of works, not exactly as per the book, but still complies with giving a warning too you.

Just been caravanning with the SC this week, trailer tow lamp remains on constantly, info entre on instruments tells me if there is a bulb out, if indicator is out flash rate is quick (had this with my car trailer)

My car has a 13 pin plug, first time I have had proper caravan electrics too!

It stays on permanently to tell you the trailer is plugged in! When it senses a fault it will either ping up on the display or flash quickly or both

I think the handbook is out of sync, and is still referring to the pre facelift models where it flashed....... Just a page they forgot to change it seems. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
