South Africa

Hi All

I have just registered on this forum. Playing with the idea of getting a Range Rover Td6. Currently I am driving a Disco1 ES Tdi and a D3 TDV6 S and some other stuff.

I am a frequent contributor to the 4x4community forum in South Africa, where I post technical info on D1 and D3 matters.

I look forward to interact with your members to get to know there is about the L322 Td6.

Greatings from sunny South Africa (now getting into Winter).

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Vogue SE Td6 Zambezi Silver
Hi to everybody

Hi everybody,

I had registered a while ago, with intentions of getting a FF RR I started to read every section of the FFRR site in detail, learned a lot. So began the search for a RR that wasn't going rusty around the rear door area, which had everything working properly, within my price of 10k. A tall order I no. I went all over the place, and after my 6th one, I was beginning to despair.
That's when I saw Graig, at Cam tech was selling his own td6, on the forum. So we spoke, drove down 200 mls from home, stuck a deal, and brought it home. With been a life long diesel fan, the td6 seamed like a good buy.

So i set about spending money, a new towbar, genuine JLR plug and play 13 pin electrics, new JLR front and rear mudlaps. Rear boot liner. Tried our 2200kgs Vanmaster caravan on the back for a test drive yesterday, Was very happy with the solid planted feel of the van on the back.

So no doubt i will be asking lots of questions, about my new toy,

Tenera Thumbs Up

The supercharged is more fun and the responsive levels are just right to take you where you want to go at any time! Very Happy

One challenge so far, (Suspension Fault, with a few symptoms) hope it won't hurt the bank, will get on the topic and hope for some much needed support.

Hope everyones doing well and look forward to reading more through the forum.

Thanks,
Mohaned

Newbie joining FFRR Forum

Hi all,
After many years admiring the L322, I took the plunge a couple of weeks ago an did a deal on a 2008 TDV8 with full LRSH.
Only picked her up a couple of days ago, and still finding my way around the many features, but clearly a FF is a completely different and in my view much better, experience to the X5 I have been driving for the last nine years
Thanks to the forum, I was able to check out that the right things had been done through the service record so all appears to be in order.
I have a question though. When idling the engine is running at 700 rpm. This seems high, but I have no reference point. When driving, the auto feels ok and she seems to pull away in a smooth, controlled manner.
Can anyone give me a view here
Also, what's the best route to get hold of a workshop manual ?
Regards, Chris

United Kingdom 2003 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Java Black

Hi all.not quite new to Range Rovers having previously owned a 4.0 P38 (a nightmare and not a happy RR experience) and a 200 TDi Classic although I have had a break when I bought an E39 M5.
Having had the BMW for a bit a mate bought a FFRR (TD6) and I liked the similarity it had to my M5 interactively and being a V8 nut, decided I had to have one.
I trawled the classifieds and bought a late '03 Vogue in Java Black with Ivory interior, FLRSH, a 2010 facelift and a straight through exhaust which is loud!!
I've done a couple of minor jobs/mods so far which include Range Rover replacement badging on the Bonnet and Boot (it used to say ARMOURED?????), adding digital TV, sorting out the clouded and swirly paintwork (black cars Evil or Very Mad ) and lastly fixing the instrument LCD display pixel fault.
Its pretty much exactly how I wanted it to start but couple more mods on the list will be genuine 2010 rear LED's, DRL's, A2DP bluetooth connectivity (possibly by hacking into the tape input wires and using an A2DP dongle) and sort the size and position of the exhaust rear pipes (they look and sound like musical instuments but I'd rather the only sounded that way Laughing )
Anyway, thats me, heres a pic to finish off.

United Kingdom 2003 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 V8 Buckingham Blue

Hi all,
I've been lurking for a few weeks, sifting through the many good threads on potential issue and problems.
Luckily, to date, the biggest problem I've had is with the interior heater which I believe I have now fixed (water pump, thermostat and a good coolant refill).

First Range Rover, being an itch that needed scratching. So far I'm over the moon with it, very different from anything I've owned previously.

I'm pretty handy with a spanner and good with electrics should it come to it.

Right, that's about it for now, I'm off to the Electrics section as I have a few questions to ask the knowledgeable people that frequent this great site.

Nick

United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Giverny Green

Hi everyone,

I'm Matt, from South Cheshire but currently studying Chemistry at Liverpool University.

I'm a longtime green oval anorak, and I've had Land Rovers as long as I've been driving - starting with a Series 3 and then a TD5 Disco. Last week, I picked up my new P&J - a 2005 L322 Vogue 4.4 on LPG. I am told the first owner was a big-cheese executive at Tesco, and as such the car has all the bells and whistles possibly imaginable, as well as something called the "luxury pack". I'm still slowly working my way through the manual every night trying to learn what all the buttons do Shocked

I came within a whisker of buying a G4 Disco 3, but I'm so glad I didnt - I'm pleased to bits with the RR, it is better than I could possibly have imagined! On top of the opulence, my god does it have some poke and WHAT A NOISE! Mr. Green

I'm looking forward now to becoming a part of the FFRR community and getting to know everyone Very Happy

Here's a picture of the truck, I'll start a thread on it soon in the member's vehicles section:
