Taking the Route Napoleon to Monaco

Put this in off topic as I'm not taking the RR. Going in the Mercedes CL500.

Leave for Montreux tonight, then early-ish start for Monaco down the Route Napoleon - meant to be real drivers roads.

Route list (bold is the Route Napoleon): -

Montreux
Thonon-les-Bains
Grenoble
Laffrey
La Mure
Corps
Col Bayard
Gap
Sisteron
Digne
Castellane
Saint-Vallier-de-Thiey
Grasse
Antibes

Monaco

I've been to Monaco before, although it was 26 years ago after I first graduated, but I've not driven on these roads. I have of course driven around Monaco during my *cough* Formula 1 career.

Anyone have any tips, advice?

England 2014 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Loire Blue

Kurt,

That is a superb road, did that route back in the 80's in a Saab 90016vS was a right hoot, great views as well, then did nearly the same about 10years ago in a Lexus LS430, not quite as sporty but pretty good....

The CL will love it, never got down there in mine, got to Venice and went back up and did the Davos road but the CL is a bit heavy for the constant hairpins... it should suit that route better.....

Have fun hope it goes well Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Pete
