You haven't lost the earth connection to the door lock or blown Fuse 11 by any chance? |

"I think" all I touched (unplugged) was the wires that go onto the door card, windows speakers etc. I did disconnect battery and unbolt the air bag, but I think all went back as planned.

Fuse 11 does drivers door module. If you can operate the drivers door window from the door switch the fuse is ok.

The side door latches are sealed units that incorporate separate actuators for locking & superlocking the doors. Each door latch also incorporates a "Hall effect sensor" that operates as an ajar switch to provide a door status signal for the CJB. The driver's door latch incorporates two additional "Hall effect sensors" to provide signals of lock and & Turning the top of the emergency key blade rearwards sends a lock signal & turning the top of the emergency key blade forwards sends an unlock signal to it. The driver's & front passenger door latches communicate with the CJB via their respective door modules & the medium speed CAN (controller area network) bus link. The rear door latches are connected to the front door modules via a LIN (local interconnect network) bus connection. On all doors the door ajar "Hall sensors" are connected directly to the CJB. Each of the door latches is mechanically connected to a locking button in the top of the door trim panel. Pressing the locking button down when the door is closed disengages the exterior handle from the door latch to lock the door. Pulling on the interior handle extends the locking button from the door trim again and re-engages the exterior handle with the door latch, to unlock the door. A second pull on the interior door handle opens the door latch. On all except the driver's door, the doors can be slam locked after pressing the button down while the door is open. For lockout protection, the driver's door locking button cannot be pressed down when the driver door is open. hope this helps |

[quote][quote]Had an issue where the external door cable snapped on the L322. Today striped it down and replaced but after building it all back up the key fob won't lock or unlock the drivers door.
Hi Boydonegood Will the Drivers door: Will not open from outside (but opens from the Inside ?? or Will not open from the Inside but opens from the outside ?? or Will not lock all together ?? or Does the internal central locking switch lock it ?? Can you also tell me IS THE DOOR LATCH electrical connector (on this problem door) - Voltage greater than 10 Volts ? - if it is you need a new door latch - as the latch unit is faulty |

Have had a strip down and unplugged everything and re plugged in. Kinda settled on it being the actual lock mechanism now (think I changed all 4 on the p38 over time) as still inop.

Hope you get it fixedc- IIRC I had to put some 'padding' in the locking mechanisum for the big connector to ensure it was seated properly to resolve (it feels like it's home, but isn't really hence no electrics to the door lock actuator mechanisum) 2007 Zermatt Silver TDV8 Vogue SE - now sold but was a great car! |
