Scotland 2014 Range Rover Vogue SDV6 Santorini Black
A good Sport or Ugly Sister?

Been trying to take a bit more notice of the L405 and new shape RRS.

Setting aside performance, driving style and the like, does anyone else think that glanced at for more than a few seconds, the new shape RRS is:
A. Actually quite blocky looking externally
B. Not a million miles evolved from the old shape to look at (fair enough evolution not revolution)
C. Not as visually "attractive" or elegant looking as the Evoque (whether you love or loathe the Evoque)
D. A car that will date quite quickly (quicker than the L405)
E. Nowhere near as handsome as the L405 (also accepting they are different cars)?

I am with you completely, albeit I think that the previous Sport is also dating quickly now and looks nothing like as complete a design as the L322. 4.2 Supercharged Vogue SE

Okay, my thoughts to your points are;

A. No, don't agree - and its certainly dramatically less blocky looking than the old model
B. I think it moved on a long way - much more current design, and obviously following the new "family" design cues
C. Much more attractive than the Evoque, although they both trouble me around the "back end"
D. Not sure - I also don't think it will stand the test of time as well as the 405
E. Agree, no where near the presence of the 405

Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Ultimately, its the top of the range, so it should be the "nicest" Thumbs Up

Thumbs Up

I had thought they were quite slick looking and then spent some time today looking up to a few well spec'd ones (all black paintwork mind) from a saloon car perspective on the motorway.

The more I looked, it seemed to get blockier and then a 61 plate, well spec'd 'old shape' black one passed, hence my questioning which - old or new - looked 'uglier'.

To the point I thought by the time the first facelift comes around, the current batch RRS might look like they've had their day but not sure I'm looking at the L405 like that. Thumbs Up
