I have just had a D4 HSE lux for 2 days whist my commercial was in.
It is a realy nice car, but it just doenst feel as impressive as a FFRR. the engine and gearbox combo are smooth and pretty refined, more so than the 3.6tdv8, but the performance is only on a par with the 3.6, the 4.4 would blow it out of the weeds.
The FF just feels a more special vehicle, drive them back to back and you will see the difference, it is like night and day. The disco will arguably handle better, it is after all a sport underneath, but with adaptive damping the later ff is a bit better then the 3.6 on the twisty stuff, but the disco feels more like a car, and less like a large 4x4, it feels smaller somehow than the RR.
The Disco is the more slightly more practical car though, with the 7 seats, but other than that the boot is about the same size, and some of the trim is a bit plasticy, and the dash just isn't that special.
Having a D4 2.7 commercial and a 3.6 I would rather have the FF as a family/day to day car than a disco, which is my work wagon and on the basic side. However even having had the HSE lux for a couple of days, i would have my 3.6 over it, any day. If my car had the 4.4 in it, it would be an even easier question to answer. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
