England 2006 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Bonatti Grey
Some pictures of my large nuts

I fitted a set of Style 11 alloys yesterday. I am surprised at how prominent the wheel nuts are. I am not sure that I have really observed / picked this up before on other FFRRs.

Does this look right to you? I am assuming these nuts are correct or maybe there are later versions which are any smaller?

I am in two minds surounding the locking wheel nuts. I did have them but an "LR Specialist" used an air gun on them and the adaptor looked like it was on the verge of breaking - In some places the surrounding edge was wafer thin! My mechanic was very sure they would let me down (probably at the worst time!) so I went back to standard nuts.

I guess now that I have new alloys and tyres I should get some lockers. That said, in my experience they are nothing but a pain and never under estimate the effort required to get the wheels off. The tyre place that put my latest alloys on used their (huge!) prized Snap-On trolley jack which was totally maxxed out heaving the FF to the point where the wheels could be changed.....

What's the general opinion here? Lockers or not? 2006 4.2 SC

My opinion its better to stop the MONKEY'S getting them Whistle Whistle Whistle Whistle

Another thing I do on both FFRR's is before the car's goes to get new tyres or service - I take off the locking wheel nuts - so they are out of harms way - I agree with you - Spanners & Monkey's don't go together Whistle Whistle Whistle

gen locking nuts are quite robust if you don't use an air gun on them, and not too expensive. Ask Dan for a price. Thumbs Up There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Does ANYONE here know anyone that recently had wheels stolen?

I might be living in a safe haven ... but I don't know anyone (I don't run locking nuts because I have broken TWO adapters)

I'm of the same opinion - I don't know of anyone who has had wheels nicked off a car

IMHO, anyone who can get a FFRR off the ground is going to have locking wheel nuts off in no time.

I took mine off & binned them ages ago - the only person likely to be inconvenienced by them is me
