Forward Alert

Hi all

I set Forwrad Alert as 'on' cuz its really useful and has woke me up a couple of times. Thing is though I use my car sparingly and after three of four days its still set as 'on' but after longer period of inactivity it switches itself 'off'.

Is this normal behaviour? Question 405 AB exec seats Baltic and Cirrus

Mine to - Did your battery go flat or have you used IID tool to change any other settings/clear faults.?

I notice that when I use IID and change some stuff, during the system reboot and writing of file, the clock went back to 12:00, date back to 2000 and turned many of these user functions back to default (which I guess is off)

Just a suggestion Ash

Works off the adaptive cruise radar. Even if cruise is not engaged the car still looks forward and alerts you if it thinks you're approaching something in front a wee bit too fast.

It's just an extension of the "Driver Intervene" warning if (like me) you use the adaptive cruise to let the car brake for you in heavy but flowing traffic. If you drop below about 20mph the car gives up and tells you to actually do some driving yourself. Laughing

I know it's off topic but Adaptive Cruise really is a great thing..

I tested mine when I first got the car - Got onto the M25 at Brentwood, got up to 70 and set cruise. I did not touch the accelerator or brake for 40 miles then all the way over the Dartford Bridge, round to Jct 5 and onto the A21. I only used the brake pedal when I got to my turn off about 35 minutes in all.

A few times I had my foot hovering over the brake pedal just in case but actually it was very good. Ash

Do your later ones have lane guidance as well.... always thought with that and the laser cruise you could get on the M1 at the bottom, set both and have a sleep until your in Scotland!!???! Pete

^ PMSL. Erm, no. Especially with a 5.0 S/C you'd need auto-refuelling as well Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

No lane departure warning as far as I know. Not on L322 anyway.

Nope - not on mine - Maybe the really rich folks with Vision Assist have lane correction but not with the simple Adaptive Cruise.

My dad's new Merc has the "Driver Assist" package which apparently wakes you up if you fall asleep (well it beeps at you if you blink for an extended period of time at least) I believe this has lane assist as part of it.

Obviously being my Dad, he has no idea what it is or how to turn it on even.! Ash

Also a lover of ACC...

The L405 version is slightly more refined in that it will queue for you in traffic too.

I have the Land Departure Warning which vibrates the steering wheel if you drift out of a lane. Unlike the Mercedes version though, it does not steer you back into the lane.

All Mercedes-Benz models now have 'Attention Assist' as standard.
