I'm thinking of buying a Range Rover (looking for something maybe 2 year old) and the one that's really caught my eye has the executive class rear seating.

Whilst I love how the 4 seat Range Rover version looks, I have a niggling feeling that lots of people who buy a FFRR would probably want 5 seats and the option to fold the back seats down (which obviously you can't with the 4-seat version).

Do you think re-selling a FFRR with the executive seating would be more difficult than a standard Range Rover? I'm conscious that potentially when the time comes to move it on, potentially having 4 seats could make it difficult to sell (or mean it depreciates more) ?

Interested to hear peoples thought, especially if they've bought/sold one in the past.

I like the 4 seaters A LOT! But as you say......... Might be harder to shift on the used car market...

Well if that option is more expensive now on a second hand one it might stay that way. Remember there is a victim for every car at any price, might take a little longer??
Anyway if depreciation on a RR is an issue, do not buy one at all...

the deprecian doesn't worry me too much tbh, I've come to realise that it's going to lose around £1k a month regardless it more being stuck with a lemon that the majority of people wouldn't want.

Potentially, I'm hoping that it being 'unpopular' could actually go in my favour as a buyer at the moment

I would buy it even though I won't be riding in the back. But I only have two kids  MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Went to Droitwich land rover today and by coincidence sat in a 4 seater AB. Absolute work of art and the comfort panel in the rear with all its buttons and gizmos far out weights the loss of the 5th seat. The middle passenger only ends up kicking the rear of the centre console anyway!

I don't think I'd pay extra for the executive seating used, but it wouldn't bother me, either. With an interior like that, I don't think I'd want to put down seats and carry a bunch of clobber. In fact, if you need to haul, rent a trailer for a day and keep the interior nice.

I've been wondering the same thing.

My 2 kids think it's wonderful, but occasionally we have a 5th passenger and occasionally I fold the seats forward to get something in the boot - but I'm not sure whether it's a good trade off or not.

Anyone know if you can get a ski hatch ?

Not being able to fold the seats down would be a complete deal breaker for me.

I would have thought that as the car gets older, the 5 seats and "big boot" would become more important when you resell it.

I think I'm going to take the plunge, but take my time looking and hold out for the rear entertainment and exec seating

I wouldn't have bought one with executive seating.
