When I bought my 4.4 tdv8 in Jan the pre heating fob had no battery and the battery compartment cover missing.

I am looking for ideas as to how to hold the battery in place.

Any advances on stuffing the hole with cardboard and tape? 2010 4.4 tdv8 - black / ivory

Your best bet is to get a bit of plastic, about 1-2mm thick and file it down into a round shape that fits over/into the hole, then hold it in place with a bit of sellotape or electrical tape.

The cover on my fob kept unscrewing and fortunately i didn't lose it, but now have to keep it secure with a strip of sellotape, regularly replaced to stop the cover from unscrewing and coming off.

The only other option is to buy a replacement fob off ebay and use the sellotape to keep the cover in place.

I took mine off the key ring on Saturday and put it in a draw.. Typically it was frozen this morning

Maybe Spring hadn't quite sprung!

Might be worth posting in wanted for someone with a broken one. People have posted about theirs not working etc, maybe someone has a spare batt cover you can have? My Previous RR's!

Anyone know where you can buy new Pre heat fobs and how much?

Have a look on ebay for Webasto T91 Fobs, or more specifically ones with Land Rover logos on them. Can be had for around £35, but can vary in price.
