United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Vogue SE Supercharged Java Black
What's the catch?

I saw this online earlier:

http://www.saxton4x4.com/reg/R5HBZJC

It looks a huge amount cheaper than from a proper dealer so there must be a catch, I know you get the reassurance from a real dealer that it's not 2 cars glued together and you get a dealer warranty etc but I must be missing something.

Also, where do they get their cars from, surely if you were selling a 3 year old FFRR you'd take it to a main dealer?? Is it the cars that the main dealers don't want 'cos they're not up to scratch? '07 Supercharged in black with drug dealer tinted windows

Thanks Mick, I know the prices go down pretty quick but comparing it to s/c's at a main dealer it's still thousands cheaper '07 Supercharged in black with drug dealer tinted windows

It's also high miles at 45k on an 08 SC.
Noticably higher than average for an SC anyway as milage drivers often get the TDV8.

That is a matter of opinion. If you want to buy a car, just pop along and see it pre-prepared for sale.
Some are good, some are not. It depends if you just want the finished car to be OK.

I am rather fussy about my cars and went there to view one.
Seeing the condition I would not have bought it even if it turned out perfect as the last owner obviously didn't give a s Censored t about it. Scratched windscreens back and front where wipers had not been changed, missing mudflaps with holes left in the bodywork, scratches in the plastic window surrounds where it had been driven between trees etc...

Yes, it would have probably been sorted out prior to purchase, so it depends how fussy you are.
But my advice is to pop a long and have a look first. Make sure you are not getting a well abused one tarted up.

It was explained to me why they are like this. Stock is not sold sometimes and moved on instead, so why spend money to make it nice until you have a sale.

Yep, I went to Saxton... Door handles missing, seats looking very battered, scratches ... I just walked out, No way I was buying a car from there.

Several guys over on RRsport have also found "problems" with cars from them and walked away. 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

It's because to that dealer the car is "just" a Range Rover, not a Vogue/VogueSE/Autobiography - I bet they aren't even genuine LR wheels at that and more than likely that to anybody who isn't an anorak the fact that it has the wrong size and wrong style of wheel won't bother them until they come to a forum like this. 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

Thanks everyone for the advice, as a complete newcomer to the FFRR world I really appreciate your experience.

Regarding the wheels, what should be on an 07 plate s/c? Also, how can I tell if they're real or not?

I was only messing about online looking at saxtons, Jeremy from lookers is on the case for a "real" one and might have found one for me (fingers crossed)!!!!! Hopefully I'll know by the end of next week. '07 Supercharged in black with drug dealer tinted windows

I've got the answer.....

We had the day off today and went to have a look at the car (we'd gone to lakeside and it's only a few miles away from there). It's got the supercharged badge stuck on at a strange angle, badly marked interior, scratched paint and a really odd smell. Oh, and no service history.

That'll be why it's so much cheaper.

At least I know now. '07 Supercharged in black with drug dealer tinted windows
