TFT Brightness

The TFT display is great, but on a couple of occasions the brightness when driving at night is on max, lighting me up like a Censored christmas tree to oncoming drivers which is extremely disconcerting for them! Anyone know where the light sensor is for the TFT?

Cheers,

Can you not either turn it down using the roller knob next to the light switch? Of is it in the user settings?

Thanks Guys, the lights are on when this happens (set to auto). I'll see if putting them on (non Auto) makes a difference. SDV8 AB MY 2019

Just to confirm Andy - I tried this again today (in the garage so lights were on) on auto and the roller wheel dims ALL of the dash lights including the TFT. To be fair, it does not turn the screen right down though but defy dims it.

Not that it should make a difference but do you have the dual screen variety. Ash

Hi Ash,

Thanks for that. Makes no difference what light setting I choose, auto or manual, the thumbwheel does not dim the TFT. It is only intermittent, so just a tad annoying. Mines got the Dual View jobby.

Would be interested to know if it is in someway connected to the status of the lights or whether there is a light sensing diode somewhere in the car.

Cheers,
