remap

Probably been asked a few times before.
Is the V8 td 2007 suitable for a remap? What are the pro's and cons apart from paying for it.
cheers

Better fuel consumption, FAR better overtaking, FAR more fun! Against more stress on the transmission, potentially more strain on the already delicate turbo's!!! Rolling Eyes

I had it done on my 2007 3.6 no difference to fuel economy but it certainly picked it's feet up when asked to, particularly on the motorways. Superchips Geoff

If yours is a 3.6 I'd map it - had my old one done by JE - faster than a 4.2 supercharged to 60 - JE's own figures - they used to have a video of it a few years ago. If its a 4.4 tdv8 I wouldn't bother - the engine is fantastic as it is, the torque is stunning and only around 1 sec slower to 60 than the 5.0 supercharged but with double the mpg Wink 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

Another vote for BAS Thumbs Up

Dead easy as you can do it yourself at home if you have a Windows PC - Pete sends you a unit to plug into the car, download your existing map, plug the box into your PC and email it to him. He sends back a new map then you upload to the car.

You own the box so can remove the remap and install the original any time you like

I'd probably have gone to JE, but they are a 9-5 Monday to Friday outfit

Pete replied to everything I asked almost immediately well into the evening. My map was returned in minutes on a Sunday- top bloke Thumbs Up

Craig

when you say better fuel consumption - by how much ? - what is normal MPG of TDV8

Do you find Torque better at low RPM ?

Is there a graph you can upload of the B.A.S ?

would appreciate this if you can

^ can't say I noticed much, if any, difference in MPG but the car picks up a lot quicker and has much more torque at the low end. Thumbs Up Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

I found my BAS map didn't make much of a difference to consumption or is it my right foot??? Whistle

But did make it into a much nicer car to own... Smoothed out all the flatspots and made A road overtakes much better Thumbs Up
