G4 L322 spotted!! (or not?)

Hello folks

we were down at Bluewater (big shopping centre near the Dartford bridge/tunnel) this afternoon and spotted this magnificent machine in the car park. I think the G4s look superb but I'm not entirely convinced this was a 'real' G4 and would love a G4 expert to tell us what we are looking at here. It was badged 'Vogue SE' (surely they used base 'HSE' spec for G4 cars?) and 'TDV8' and had the correct roof rack, roof rack lights and Goodyear MTR tyres, but missing the G4 front door stickers, winch, underbody protection etc...

It definitely was a TDV8 Vogue SE: had cooled seats, extra wood etc. Whatever it is, it was a fine looking FFRR!

(apologies for poor quality shots, only had an iphone a low light levels to work with)

TDV8? Not in a G4 ... just an orange RR or a publicity thing.

G4 was 2003 and 2006 - prior to the TDV8. The reg shows this to be a genuine TDV8 registered 23/1/2008, the year the 2008/2009 G4 was cancelled. Land Rover Addict

Good knowledge DMRR. Just out of interest, did LR produce any cars for the 2008 G4 before it got cancelled?
cheers

United Kingdom 2002 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Tangiers Orange

Major EDIT :

This is indeed one of the 2 2008 TDV8 L322 produced by Land Rover (both RHD), moreover this is the one used during recce in Mongolia in 2008.

It sports all VSE specs and was originalyfully fitted with G4 equipment: Roofrack, Hella Xenon roof lights, Mantec steering and tank guards, internal load guards, Goodyear MT/R tyres, Warn 9000XP Winch.

It was advertised mid 2009 byt Harwoods Land Rover in Kent for £47.000

I can confirm 100% this is the “real deal” and quite a unique piece. I would have left a card with my details to the owner, please do if you ever find it again - should the owner be willing to sell... Whistle

Photos are almost non existant but please forward me any you may have guys.

WAS :

There are 2 TDV8 L322, both VSEs, in private hands, used for qualification in Belgium, and for Mongolian recce.

This is most likely BW57A**, as it as sold sans winch/skidplate and tow bar. VIN or original plate would help to confirm (did you shoot pics of the vin on the lower part of the windshield?)

all specs matches.

Did it have rosewood interior trim over jet black interior?

tx for sharing Thumbs Up

NOTE : these do not look like MTRs on the photos. Original alloys style, but painted black, S/C grill and side vents added.

Missing stickers BUT all add ons check. Rangie was sold with stickers on. l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l

It is a brilliant colour and if I would convert my 4.2 into an off roader, I think a Tangier Orange wrap should be part of it Smile. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

United Kingdom

I remember seeing two car transporters parked up at a motorway services on the M1 loaded with G4 vehicles a few days after Land Rover announced the demise of the (planned) final G4 event including 110's & 130 workshop vehicles.
All were factory fresh & immaculate - it was a sorry sight, somehow . . . .

Thumbs Up Where do you go after one of these . . . ?

VeryDisco

it did have jet leather and rose wood. Tyres were defo MTRs (I'm very familiar with them from my trans-Africa exploits!) but wheel colour and grilles are clearly 'wrong'.

I didn't think to take a pic of the VIN (toddler and wife waiting in car already thinking I'm nuts...) and might have baulked at the idea if I had thought. Not sure why, but seems like an invasion of privacy?? Pity, because then we could have a definitive answer...

Front half looks different shade to back in rear picture but probably just the light/dust.

Would imagine the front door is adjusted too far out Gary so the rear door is hidden from the dirt in certain situations...

I see it often on customer vehicles...
