Steamed up lights

Been to see a 2011 TDV8 at a LR dealer today. Noticed the lights had a little condensation in them.

Is this a big problem? Will they keep doing this?

Ok great.

Got a D2 TD5 at present and when they steam up it is a nightmare as it never goes away properly.

Front had little condensation. One rear was a little bad.

I have never noticed on my FFRR any condensation in the front, a tiny patch sometimes on the back driver side but my D1 with the later plastic TD5 lights fitted to it, Jesus they are like swimming pools all the time, I know I off road it a lot but I now have grass growing in the drivers side headlight Shocked I put a breather on both of them and ran it to the top of the snorkel, it has made them better but I wish I had of stayed with the early type glass lights Embarassed

The whole car was pretty tidy. Comes with 2 year LR warranty too.

Only issue was a chip/crack on the windscreen which they seemed to think was ok to fill but I thought a crack was a replacement screen.

How do you know if the heated wheel is on and working apart from it getting hot? Could not see and lights to say it was on.

Think we will give him a call about getting the screen sorted. Mrs had a big smile on her face not only when driving it but as a passenger too.

Seats were far darker in real life. Really chocolate brown and the wood was very dark in real life too. Pictures don't really do it justice.

Just had 4 new tyres fitted too. 1 owner from new and supplying dealer has maintained it since then.

Looks like a nice car sir... and don't worry about the steamy lights... Mine lives indoors but whenever i get fought out and drive it home in the rain they often get a small amount of condensation Rolling Eyes

I believe JLR even put a remark in the service booklet/owners manual about this phenomenon Thumbs Up

Yes it looks very nice, I have seen that colour combination in real life and as you say it looks much nicer. They are a great place to be in and I am just about to go out in mine now for a drive in the snow up to the Lake District with my dogs and after all these years it still puts a smile on my face Smile

+3 on the very nice looking car (although I would insist on the dealer oval badge being removed from the tailgate. Likes do this a lot and I think its a bit of a cheek).

Nice to see the highlighted splitter bar and dual view screen. Mine had neither and is VSE. Burr wood looks nice too. 30.1mpg is right too.

Can I assume you are bartering down a bit? looks strong money to me for the miles. 405 AB exec seats Baltic and Cirrus

Just had a closer look and it is really well spec'd! 2011 4.4's lost quite a lot from the 10my 3.6 range...

Also, it looks like it has 4 brand new brake discs Thumbs Up

Check what it has been towing? As it has a farmers hitch so, could have had a hard life?

And finally, get them to nail the rear plate on straight Whistle Whistle Whistle Big Cry

We have Swan necks on ours - I was thinking last week in buying a fixed ( as you call it Farmers Tow bar) - It looks stronger - what are your thoughts on this. I have heard stores about Swan necks not being strong ?

We have a Ifor Williams 511 box we tow
