Illuminated Tread Plates - Genuine

I nearly spunked in my pants when I saw these on the LR website. Where have they been all my life!?

Illuminated Tread Plates
Part No: VPLMV0063

Optional illuminated tread plates are available on both driver and front passenger sides, adding not just protection, but a sense of prestige and occasion when entering and exiting the vehicle.

They have been on sale for over a year Dan! My first impression when I saw them was X5/M Class/MaxPower Saxo and not really the classy sort of stuff I want to stick on my FFRR......................................... stands by to fend off incoming flack Laughing 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

I think those look pretty cool... The price tag however is not so cool!

Really? I frequent the LR website quite often for reference and haven't seen them before, they are new for the 2011 range of accessories....

I've seen cheap imitations for sale on eBay but they are always machined really badly and generally look poor.

They are listed as available for the 2011 range rover: http://www.landroverweb.com/Pdf-files/Maun..._en_GB.pdf

I have to agree with Dan on this - they have only been made available for the 2011MY range. It's on price list and in brochure for 2011MY. I have the 2010MY brochure and not in there. When test driving and going to buy one was told to hold on for a few months and get the 2011MY as much better car with better engine etc. It would have beter resale value just for waiting a short while.

Well can tell you it's not a short while at all and I'm positively ripping my hair out waiting - one month to go!

Anyway back to tread plates, these are a dealer fitted option I think as was not something I specified on the order and was told we would discuss other items when the car is delivered to showroom. They are £295 + VAT option. Only came on the website after September too - I'm a bit obsessed at the moment and check the site quite often.

Obviously the wiring will not be there though so you'll need to think something up with that...
