I've had it nearly 5 years. It's 12 years old and done 210,000km's. I feel at moderate usage it's got another 5 years left in it, and part of me wants to run it that long.

On the other hand, it's slow and noisy, and I bought it so I could tow a big trailer for house refurbishment, and that project is coming to a close.

I could upgrade it, but I think I'd prefer to wait for L405's to come down in price.

All of this makes me think I'll probably keep it for a while longer.

How long are you going to keep yours?

No daily driver has survived longer as 2 years. I get bored with the same dash every day. Allready thinking of selling my 07 a year after I bought it... For 13500 she is yours .. ...and no I will not ever buy a 405.

i'd like to get a newer one but i cant justify the cost difference for how much i would get for mine and the price of a 2011/10my , and as mine is running ok it'll have to be a real bargain for me to make the change..
maybe a facelift conversion might be my next step, or not .. ... - .- -.

This is probably the last car I will buy, it is used mainly to tow the van and is only doing about 8000 miles a year.

A good question, probably a couple of more years as it's only done 45k and I've only had it about 9 months. And it is still such great fun to drive. Remain to be convinced by the L405  SDV8 AB MY 2019

Interesting question. It made me think ...
I’ve had my 2005 Td6 a little over 5 years and it now totals only 115,000 km (72,000 miles).
Apart from a busted auto-box a few years back, it’s been reasonably reliable (relatively speaking!) and it provides such comfort and practicality that I see no reason to change it. It really is a great car.
It’s probably worth much more to me than its current market value, and to buy a comparable replacement would be out of my reach.
Besides, since retiring my average has dropped to around 6,000 km (4,000 miles) a year, so at that rate I’d guess it probably has more years left in it than I have!
So, unless it blows up, it looks like it’s a keeper. It's "bébéchoon", ackcherly, with accents. 'Steve' to my chums.

Current motor: Suzuki S-Cross 4WD auto, 1.4 petrol. Oh so reliable! 7 years now and no problems. Oh, all right then, a leaking shocker replaced under guarantee.

Had ours exactly 22 months and 20,000 miles now. Currently in for an MOT and to the main dealer for a major service and repair of yet another oil leak tomorrow.

Still covered by LR warranty until May 2016.

Like to think we'd keep it for another year or so because it's a really nice car. You could say it doesn't deserve to be kept due to all of the issues it has had, but on reflection, the audit trail tends to show the issues were primarily down to human error; and that's the double edged sword of having a manufacturer's approved warranty in place. You to tend to gravitate to a reliance on very busy, time constrained main dealers for service and maintenance.

Had mine 3½ years up to now with 78k on the clock. As I only do about 4k a year I think it's worth keeping for a while yet, can't see I would get much of an improvement by buying a newer one at a significant outlay.
Besides, I like a challenge.
