Which towbar

Hi Guys,

I'm in the market for a tow bar and wanted some advice. I don't need anything special but would like the removable swan neck affair (cos it looks better than the fixed ones)

I only have a piddly little trailer so nothing heavy duty will be towed.

Would one of these suit or can anyone recommend something more appropriate (not as a huge cost as well) Ash

Shame you don't want a fixed one as pf Jones got a deal on with the fixed bars, £177 with the dedicated electrics. Mine (witter tow bar) is in the hall ready to fit when I have a day off work Cool If it dont work.......burn it!

If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF.

If the FF cant be fixed......buy a Land Cruiser!

If the LC cant be fixed..............................................BUY a horse !!

Common mistake Whistle

The farmers hitch is available with a pin - rather than a bolt - and so is removable more quickly than the swan neck and leaves less on the car, so looks neater.

The only down side is that it doesn't fit in the boot cubby.

Just had one of these fitted. All the bits from PF Jones. Got my local indy to fit it for me - cost me a couple of hours labour, worth it though as the armature is a beast to pick up.

Used it on Sunday to bring one of my boat trailers back. Fitting it took less than 10 secs. A lot quicker than fitting the removable one in my old D3, and without the worry that it will fall out.

Now to track down the black plastic plug that I've just read about Wink

Neil - I don't suppose you have a link or description of the one you bought do you.

I'm happy to fit it myself (I did on the last one anyway) but looking for something with a removable ball.. Ash
