Hey, guys! The "Air suspension inactive" message reappeared and once again she was stuck in off-road height. I had to go down to Hobart (I live in NW Tasmania) so I booked her in with an independent for a check. My mate owns an independent VW workshop and I always stay at his place when in Hobart. When I arrived at his workshop he pulled out the diagnostic tool that he uses ($11,000) and lo and behold...it had a chip for the L322! So we plugged it in and read the codes...the only one that came up was the inactive suspension variety. He explored further and found that his tool could recalibrate the suspension settings. As it was, the height from the wheel rims to the wheel arches was 480mm which is at the high end, so we reset it to 460mm. As soon as this was done the suspension behaved as normal and would rise and fall according to the switch (previously the switch lad no LEDS and produced no result). The next day I went to the independent RR workshop and the owner confirmed that we'd done the right thing. So that was 3 weeks ago and I've hesitated to write anything on this thread just in case the dreaded "bong" resurfaced, but I'm happy to say that the suspension is working fine. My advice to all of you L322 owners is if you have this problem emerge, get the suspension recalibrated before you panic and spend a lot of money unnecessarily. In the case of mine, I still have a nagging feeling that one of the sensors is misbehaving but I'm probably being paranoid. Oh... on the trip to Hobart and back + running around there I did 1000km and had a diesel consumption of 8.4L/100km. OUTSTANDING! |

Well, stuck in extended mode. Local garage said code was “failure to vent vessel” or similar.....

Yep - what Stan said - a small hole in the end will fix your woes. |

Main dealers may not sell the filters separately but if you search on eBay for "sintered bronze filters" you may well find what you need for a few pounds. |

I had the venting problem too. I did not drill the hole in my bronze filter but I just cleaned it. But after cleaning it twice I wanted a better solution. So, you need to change out the dryer dessicant on this compressor when the filter starts clogging, because it is the dessicant that is turning to dust and clogging everything.

Nice one. Have you got a link for the kit?

Has anyone changed the filters or driers inside the compressor?
