My question is 2 fold...

We have had a couple of dents put into the drivers and passenger front doors by people opening their car doors onto the Rangie.

Does anybody have any recommendations for having these sorted?

Also, if we fitted side steps, would this prevent people from being able to dent the doors ie, would their car doors be stopped by the side steps? 2017 Range Rover SDV8 Vogue SE

You need a paintless dent removal specialist, best place to find one is to ask your main dealer for the number of the one they use, all dealers use them to prepare second hand cars and they tend to use the good ones....

Side steps will stop some dents but it depends how curved the offending door is!!!

I had my rear light smashed a while ago... same height as a shopping trolley handle... Pete

That's why you need someone with experience, there are a lot out there that car handle steel panels but it is much harder with alloy..... can be done though.... Pete

This goes for everyone with 2006 on L322s, when booking a paintless specialist, mention you have double glazed windows on the doors.

These break like, ahem, glass when they put even a small amount of pressure as they are quite thin.

I won't tell you how I know but let's say I had a new window and rubber trim fitted at Land Rover FOC and the dentman did not charge me a penny.

I really hate people that are either not carefull or do it on purpose. No respect for other people(s property). I have put some ugly protection rubbers on the X-trail here and do my absolute best to make sure my girls open the doors carefully. Even with the high average of "older" cars in Malaysia.

I hope that this is the last time that you have to do this RRTIM but am afraid it is unlikely to stop. Too many a**holes around on this planet. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

A few years ago I parked the car on a windy day. One of my kids opened the door and despite being warned to hold the door tight, she let it go and it was blown onto the car next door, causing a dent. I could have driven off. I left a note.

The other owner was gobsmacked at my honesty.

He tried to sting me for a full main dealer repair but I persuaded him to try a paintless dent removal. If he wasn't satisfied I agreed to a full repair later. He was then delighted with the dent service so it only cost me a few quid.
