There are some other quirks on the US or NAS cars. They don't have adaptive headlights, the wiring for that is missing and the spot for the bulb is blanked of. My 2006 is a NAS car and the US has some stupid rules making the cornering lights illegal. I do like the cornering lights on my 2010 Smile

I'm confused about the cornering lights. My NAS 2008 has the cornering lights. They do their "little dance" each time the car is started. I never really noticed their effect until driving a few weeks ago at night in VERY heavy fog. The light beams were very visible and I could see them sweep back and forth in concert with the steering.

Hi mate, that is just the adjustment of the height you see. The cornering lights are separate light bulbs fitted in the corner of the headlights and they come on when you turn into curves, really cool and handy.

On my NAS SC, there is no wiring and no possibility to fit the cornering light bulbs at all. The hole for the bulb is blanked off.

I read up on it and it has to do with US legislation banning them (idiots).

My UK SC does have them and they do come on making turning in dark areas a bit easier since you can see "around the corner" Smile MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

I wondered why those lights never seemed to turn on or do anything. Bow down

The headlights do swivel side-to-side as well as level up/down.

Stupid regs. Evil or Very Mad I heard that was why Citroen abandoned the North American market. The USA outlawed the adjustable suspension for the DS, probably because it would have been too expensive for Ford/GM/Chrysler to compete.

The US is a bit screwed up that way with some of the stuff being banned and other stuff being perfectly legal (marihuana and guns anyone ??). Banning alcohol and repeating the same mistake a few decades later, while more people die from getting shot accidentally by legal guns than crimes occur where they make a difference. Mind boggling. And then I haven't even started with the attitude towards sex, contraception, abortion etc. etc.

Anyway with regards to the lights, it is probably something to do with the ridiculous attitude towards liability and the associated claims that are part of it. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Ahh that wasn't why Citroen couldn't sell in the USA Smile
However it was due to a stupid regulation.

Something about the bumpers must be at a certain height or above when the vehicle is parked and as most citroens will sink after a while they failed in this respect.
