2002 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Epsom Green
Memory seats - mind of their own

Hello,

I've had my 2002 Td6 Range Rover for four weeks now and just about getting to grips with all of its various features. One thing that's bugging me though is the electric memory seats... They don't appear to have much of a memory!!

I have selected my preferred seating/steering/mirror position and saved it as Memory 1 (and 2-4.... I'm the only one who drives it). I leave the seat in this position when I get out and lock it.

Yet, whenever I return to the car, the seat start moving off to a different position and the retractable steering wheel returns it to a bizarre position too. I have to hold down one of the memory buttons every time to return to my seating position :s

I have tried everything - even programming the second key to my preferred position - but it seems to spuriously change my seats/wheel into different positions (and sometimes it doesn't...... there seems to be no logic).

Has anybody had this before? All I want is for the seat and steering wheel to be in the same place I left it in..... Big Cry Having to adjust the seat and wheel are just wearing out the parts unnecessarily when I'm the only driver!

Thanks,

Chris 2002 Range Rover Td6 Vogue

Have you tried a battery reset with the seat in your preferred position ? 2008 MY Supercharged

You could have keys 2 & 3 only (maybe key 1 was lost) and the seats want to set to key 1 memory?

If you have the diagnostic kit/capability why not try clearing the whole system and starting again?

It can be one of the symptoms of a battery on it's way out too.

As the car is relatively new to you - may be worth getting the battery checked - especially if you see any other electrical gremlins....

Other than that, as suggested battery disconnect & then set all the seat memories to the same position

My Classic RR used to do this, the problem was caused by a duff battery in the seat memory module. Not sure if the FFRR has the same system
