2011 Range Rover TDV8 rear pads/discs price

I've got my car in the main dealers at the moment having some bits checked over (still under warranty). They have advised new pads/discs on the rear (I was expecting this as I could see the pads were low) Fitted price around £460. Seems a lot to me for rear brakes. Any thoughts or any recent prices?

Stupidly expensive. You can get a full set of pads for front and rear (Brembo) for about £65!!!!!!!!!!

I'd also ask for second opinion on the discs tbh, as the rears are not used as much as the front - measure them yourself!!! Land Rover Addict

With all due respect... You are not going to get quality pads F&R for £65 sir Rolling Eyes

JLR are approximately £200+vat and imho are the ONLY front pads to fit... Neutral

If the car is not failing an MOT and this is just an advisory and/ or if it's with them for a day or so anyway, you could tomorrow morning ring site sponsors Advanced Factors and Duckworths Parts. Both will give you honest, informed advice on disc and pad options for your car (just tell them your Chassis number or date of registration and model etc)
http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/sponsors.php

You could also browse this thread from which you might find another main dealer or Independent Specialist recommended by forum members and near to you:
http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/dealership-...-vf12.html

Then you can decide whether to pay what you've already been quoted or to haggle with them or to replace them by means of another route on another day Thumbs Up

Here we go again! Rolling Eyes

Brembo do NOT make brake pads!!! The official JLR Brembo pads are made by a company called "Jurid" and bare no resemblance to the pads sold in the red boxes with "Brembo" written all over them!

That is a marketing ploy! They fit "Brembo" equipped cars! They are neither made NOR marketed or sold by Brembo!

Craig, in terms of "Time" how long do you charge for each side when replacing "Discs & Pads" at the rear?

To be fair to the dealer the rear pads are low, I can see that through the wheel and there is some scoring on the disc, not sure if a stone or something has ben trapped at some point.
I would normally be more than willing to change them myself the electronic park brake is putting me off. I definitley don't expect a main dealer to be cheap in any way but just wasn't expecting that price for the rear! Thankfully the fronts have got a bit more meat on them!

Our Land Rover owned Independent KLLR charge £210 labour if you supply your own parts so:

£340 total is about the cheapest you can expect down south is you buy your own parts from Euro Car parts.
