Good evening all I am new to the joys of l322 ownership when I first got the car the gear box gave up and was sent away to be refurbished by a gearbox specialist when the car returned it had a slight jerky down shift but I was told this was because it was all new and would settle down the first time it happens I was at the shop had been driving for aprox 20 miles all was good I tryed to reverse out of the parking space wich it did no problem then when I went to select drive there was nothing so I tryed neutral again back to drive nothing so then tryed reverse nothing it came up transmission safe mode if you turn car off then on again it would allow you to select on gear ie you can go in to reverse all ok back to neutral then no forward drive turn off select drive would drive but when It went to change up it would find a false neutral so car sent away for gear box refurb then the other night I was driving on m25 all good came off at junction stopped at lights and car just wanted to keep pulling forward so had to put quite some pressure on the brake pedal to hold stainary moved to neutral then back to drive all ok carry on with journey all ok for about 15 min then would not change up or down when stooped at junction had to really accelerate hard to get moving again as if your setting off in third then ping transmission safe mode no drive at all turned of and on again no transmission safe message and no drive what so ever unlike last time so got out had a quick look cloud not see any thing and a slight cluch burning smell so now car being recoverd any body have any ideas where to start thanks Steve

Get a new gearbox?

Needs to go back to your gearbox specialist for a rework. Shouldn't have any of these problems, even as a refurb. .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember

Sounds like there's a load of muck in the valve body, and it's causing no end of hick ups. The not wanting to stop at the lights, to me, is the torque converter lock up not disengaging, which would suggest that there is either a blockage in the hydraulic feed, or a fault with the valve. The box full of neutrals, is either low fluid, hydraulic leak or blocked ways in the valve body. It needs to be stripped and gone through thoroughly and totally cleaned. I would surmise that it's the valve body, and it's needs to be refurbished properly, which is not a job that most gearbox builders want to tackle, as they are a pig and are notorious for wear issues. Oh and they are a real head ache to change as there are several different types, which from what I gather all have the same part number  Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!
