Sounds like there's a load of muck in the valve body, and it's causing no end of hick ups. The not wanting to stop at the lights, to me, is the torque converter lock up not disengaging, which would suggest that there is either a blockage in the hydraulic feed, or a fault with the valve. The box full of neutrals, is either low fluid, hydraulic leak or blocked ways in the valve body. It needs to be stripped and gone through thoroughly and totally cleaned. I would surmise that it's the valve body, and it's needs to be refurbished properly, which is not a job that most gearbox builders want to tackle, as they are a pig and are notorious for wear issues. Oh and they are a real head ache to change as there are several different types, which from what I gather all have the same part number Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!
