This one caught my eye!

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/adv...1/usedcars

In my search for my ideal lpg v8 ff, this one has caught my eye although it would bust the budget...

Any opinions gratefully received!

Check if the engine is the BMW or the Jag engine and if the LPG system installation came with the flashlube system for the valves (more important on the Jag than on the BMW engine apparently).

The BMW engines suffer from some issues when they get older (VANOS, PCV valve etc.) that can cause some headaches while the Jag AJV8 is virtually bulletproof. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

looks nice mate, almost identical to mine just not the same amount of toys as mine, phone TV etc and slightly more miles (but cheaper than mine...)

LPG would be a deal breaker for me though as you can't take them on the eurotunnel

also i am pretty sure those wheels are standard on a vogue as they were on mine till i changed to 19's.....

also check if its got the touch screen sat nav as if it doesn't then i would say thats a mark against it....

Thats a lot of money for an older car face lift or not. especially a petrol. IMHO
If it's a 2005 it will have a touch screen. Mine was a blue one! Smile

I was thinking it was a bit pricey tbh...

Andy, I only discovered the other day about the lpg/tunnel thing which is a bit of a spanner in the works somewhat as I would be planning to holiday in France with it but I guess there's still the ferry...a good td6 like yours isn't out of the running but I do quite fancy the v8, I had a tvr chimaera once and kind of harp after that sound again.

i had a chimera lovely car, and sounded great.....

i wouldnt bother with LPG just get a petrol if you want the v8? i sometimes miss the refinement of a petrol but the TD6 is fine when its just pooling around, when i had mine mapped it also meant that not as much right foot was needed to move it which meant that it effectively is quieter

that other car was a 2004 so i am not sure it would have the touchscreen

I think you could find a touchscreen V8 petrol cheaper than that. The Touchscreen Hybrid models just feel much newer inside than the 2002-2004 cars. Subtle difference but it works for me.

All your replies much appreciated folks, I was beginning to wonder if a decent '05 was within my reach, but if you reckon this is a 10 grand car then that pleases me. I don't reckon anyone would come down 3k on the asking price so I guess I'll keep looking...

The sellers clearly playing the LPG card, but that doesn't really add to the value, so unless they get lucky, no ones going to bite at that price.
If there asking such a high price, it's rather unlikely they'll consider dropping that far but you can only ask Whistle Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

I can see the argument for no LPG and the argument for diesel if you use the channel tunnel a lot for business...

Used to use it a lot when I was living "darn sarf", mind you, went through a few times with an LPG car and no one said anything!!!!

We only use the crossing for holidays now and find the ferry much better, book priority boarding and the VIP lounge and you are first on and off the boat, you can sit in a very nice lounge, where there are no screaming kids and drunks being sick, and get waited on hand and foot with quality beverages and food... You can have a kip in peace or read the complimentary newspapers... all very civalised, a lot like the VIP lounges at the airports and I can't imagine flying without using them....

Yes it takes a bit longer, but your on holiday so time shouldn't be a priority.... Pete

we have a dog so the tunnel is the only option for us as i don't fancy leaving rover in locked in the car deck
