I've got an X5 after sales camera on mine, goes in place of one of the number plate lamps, But it wasn't a good fit so it had to be made to fit with a Dremmel
The unit I got has an led in it to replace the number plate lamp, but it's not canbus friendly so I had to add a Ballast resistor to stop the Bong of Death and the Screen Of Doom, as they were doing my head in And all the wiring is inside the tailgate, so no holes to be drilled
Would I do it again......... probably, was a bit fiddly to get it to fit and I've had to use a small screw on one side, but you can hardly notice it (the camera), and you can just make out the bumper in the bottom on the picture. So it's great for those rare occasions when the PDC decides to go do-lally, every day, except when it's really wet, and then it's intermittent
Sort of a mixed blessing when it comes to hitching up, can see the tow bar fine, but it's slightly off set, which causes a wee bit of spacial distortion, so it's easy to miss, D'OH! But it does save you punching a hole in the bumper, and with practice you learn to compensate, eventually Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!
