Resetting Ignition!!!!!!!!!!

What exactly is meant by "try resetting ignition". To me it means switch of and then on, but the same message re-appears after doing that. Incidentally the battery is charged showing 13.9/14 v. Am I missing something?

Your thoughts appreciated.

Whilst using diagnostic to read "faults"

Screen reads " Vehicle is not responding to communication attempts .Please try resetting the ignition and check vehicle battery voltage".

I just thought that maybe there was some peculiar procedure re the " RESET IGNITION " BIT
