The funny thing is, i had the same problem with one of my FF's after a replacement screen was fitted (not well) and the sensor was not clipped in place correctly...

So ripped off the mirror, but have managed to put that back. I've tested the wipers and no different, also, at the moment it is full sun, yet the auto lights still come on, so it must be that the sensor is knackered.

I took out the fuse, but that controls the wipers and the wash so without nothing. So it seems I cannot disable the auto wipe and just use the manual intermittent until the sensor is replaced.

One thing I did notice (although it maybe irrelevant) is that there is a hole on the sensor area on the screen to the left of the sensor box, could it be the sensor is not in it's correct position.

'nail on head' is the expression on this one..that hole certainly looks like the aperture for the sensor, canyou move the unit to the left? ... - .- -.

No, nothing.

Do you think that it would be best for the windscreen to be replaced?
