Haylands,
I was about to disconnect battery, but everything else was working.
I was able to jiggle steering wheel and turn ignition at same time, this allowed
me to start Rover.
I ran for 15-20 mins to heat up interior. All electricals working (i.e. windows,
mirrors, radio.
Master Central locking button (could hear mechanism/see latch stems/pins rise
and lower), however front driver /passenger side interior latches would engage,
but doors would not open.
I connected IIDToolBT to scan any faults. Results:
IPC-Instrument Pack
• U0248-87 (2F) Lost communication with remote driver utility
module - Bus
signal/message failure - missing a message
SASM-Steering Angle
• U0122-87 (2 Lost communication with vehicle dynamics control
module -
Bus signal/message failure - missing a message
SCLM-Steering Lock
• 0x1C Unlocking error
• 0x17 Locking operation error
I cleared faults, the only one cleared was 'SLCM-Stering Lock. The other two
re-appear.
Also, from IIDToolBT>Live Values>Battery Voltage = 14.0v/14.1v (Actual
13.8v/13.9v)
On the exterior, I inserted key (driver door) and tried turning key, it would not
turn. I pulled latch, holding latch I was able to turn key. upon releasing
latch, from this point on I'm able to use key. while turning key, doors locked
and unlocked, however I was still unable to open doors. The handles feel really
loose, not grabbing/catching. Could this be the cables frozen from moisture/water
from car wash?
I tried the super-lock function and it's not that.
Finally got both front doors opened!!!!
While car running (to heat up interior)15-20ms, I Sprayed WD-40
(http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/post188486.html?highlight=unlock#188486)
down both interior pop up pins. open with latch and press down pin. Continue doing this
(one side at a time) until door opens.
Would not have been able to figure this out if it wasn't for you guys here on fullfatrr!!!
Thanks!!!
Hope this helps anyone else in cold climate, especially in ILLINOIS.
