On the 2002 4.4L V8 G4, for preventive measures, we are replacing, amongst many other things, all the engine coolant pipes (engine and heater system). Engine ones already fitted. heater system pipes on order

By definition, the engine is now empty of fluid. Before we fill it up again, is there any special tip to know or is it just, check all pipes and clips, fill up and start her up - then double check levels ?

Don't know, but I wouldn't leave it empty too long. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Don't think you can get all the coolant out of the engine, there will be a fare amount sat in the bottom of the waterways, maybe worth flushing and back flushing the engine to try to get all the old stuff out....

There again I don't think it would make much difference....

When you refill it just do it nice and slowly to let the air out, seems to fill better, with less airlock problems, if you use a 50/50 mix to fill it rather than putting the thick antifreeze in first, then water on top.... Pete
