Crankcase breather. Have a search for it . The upgrade, which does away with the need to service the breather filter is described as BMW vortex crankcase breather. John

Pollen or cabin filter, they mean the same.

To be honest I'd get the standard air filter as they are so cheap for a decent one and have been proven in tests before to be one of the best ones. Using the oe paper filter I mean.

Yes thats the filter and they are always grubby!

one piece of decent sized old carpet or card board box and job done. Also with having run the car for a few miles before hand to warm the diff fluids up the heat off the exhaust helps keep you warm FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
