I suppose it depends on where the chip is - If on the driver's side obscuring your view - then yes, it should be repaired.

bosh it with a big hammer, have done with it and get a new windscreen only problem is a mate did this - the new screen didn't fit properly, his wipers wouldn't park properly anymore and it whistled like poo on the motorway. Mind you, he is a bit of an obsessive tosser when it comes to tiny things that wouldn't normally bother mentally balanced people - his girlfried calls it being anal

ive got about 2 of them which ive done nothing about so far, if it cracks the screen i'll get a new one and pay the excess. Discovery 4 HSE

Contrary to the other opinions I would have it fixed. Small nicks can "blossom" into larger ones. A small nick does effect the integrity of the windscreen. Better to spend the 60 bucks (US) and protect yourself and your occupants in case of a crash. Also, the cost of the heated screen isn't cheap. 08 FFRR

Heated windscreen costs £70 to replace on my insurance policy...

when i got a severe crack in my screen on my original RR Classic, (heated 1989 model) i took a hammer to it to ensure it was replaced not fixed! Discovery 4 HSE
