Problems Again! Died on the Road

Hello, Merry Christmas First of All! I hope 2015 is good for you all.

Now, down to business. My Range Rover died today on the road. It appears the neither of the two electronic fuel pumps are running. I've checked two fuses one in the front and one in the rear. All looks well! I then swapped the relay, again no use!

What do you guys think? Hopefully there is a simple solution.

However again, neither of the fuel pumps appear to be running.

did you have much fuel in it?

mine cut out a couple of times like that when fuel was below 1/3 of a tank, turned out to be one of the fuel puts not generating enough pressure

Hey,
Yes half a tank.

Just checked, in tank pump is running. Therefore it's the small pump under the footwell which has failed. I'm going to try tomorrow if the weather is somewhat decent to take off the cover and have a look. I imagine the connector has come lose.

Try hitting the pump with a spanner, not too hard but enough to allow the brushes to move closer to the armature to make contact.

I would also recommend replacing with a genuine LR part as the cheap ones don't last

Hey Guys.
Quick update. Got the Land Rover going.

It was the fuel pump, it had failed. But a new one in and away she's goes.
Strange however, as I only replaced it 5 months previous.

Went for the proper Land Rover one this time.

Hope Christmas is going well for everyone! Smile
