Just a quick question about it ......

Is it any good as the 16 year old daughter wants one as part of her christmas , i've not been into the Apple store as yet to have a look at them ...

Thought i would ask you guys as you will have had hands on experience of them ..

She is doing my nut in moaning that her 5 is antiquated and rubbish .... Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

Lord... iPhone 6 is a great tool, but does a teenager need one, ... nein!

I love mine as it works great and stocks loads but considering the price of it for a toy, Status/fashion statement, I am not sure getting her such an expensive gadget is helping her out tbh.

iPhone 5 is really good already for (I presume) a not yet working individual if you ask me.

Now if she has excellent grades and you want to make a point do it. But otherwise, man, what is she going to ask you for her 18th birthday?

Sorry if brutally honest Whistle l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l

Mick

I have one and to be fair its the best devise that apple have brought out to date. The battery is very good and lasts me a couple of days without charge.
She will be very happy with it

Don't believe the hype.. My eldest has come to his senses and got an LG G3 which poops all over his friends 6's in almost every spec... He has been through all iPhone models and would not go back.

Mick,

Upgraded from a 5S to a 6 when they came out. Very happy with it, great for old gits like me with failing eyesight. It is much better for watching films etc due to the larger screen. Wouldn't go for a 6+ as that's just too big, might as well get an I-Pad mini.

And of course it will bend if you sit on it, like most phones would unless you have an early Nokia brick phone!

Cheers & Happy Xmas!

Yep, iPhone 6 is good, but as a functional tool, apart from battery life it doesn't do much more than the 5 or 5s would..... Apart from a slightly bigger screen and a slightly faster processor there is little to tell them apart functionally.

Let's put it this way, I run my business from my phone for the most part, watch I player on it at night, play games on it, use it to control my sky and home cinema, write emails, post here, play music via Bluetooth and wifi etc etc, so I would say I could count myself as a heavy user, and to be honest if it's cheap then do it, if it's not then wait until it is! There honestly isn't a massive difference a teenager doing a bit of texting and Facetwit will notice......

Most of the additional features are ios8 based and as such will work on a 5s, but ios8 did slow down my 5 a bit. Had a play with an lg G3 a mate had and to was a fine bit of kit really depends how apple'd up you are! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I went from a 4S to a 6, the size difference is a revelation if you've never had the larger screen smart phones.

Apart from that, all much of a muchness as far as Apple goes, not much different.

Does a teenager NEED one? Depends on peer pressure I guess. Your choice Mick.

Its the slipperiest phone Ive ever handled, refused to use it till I got the official Apple leather case when they first came out, my GF has just had one from work and without the case I almost dropped it. Feels much lighter and hence flimsier.

Wish work would upgrade my 5 though. Discovery 4 HSE

There is little difference between the 5 and 6, just upgraded mine and have to say the difference is negligible...

There again at 16 it doesn't matter how good it is, it's the latest one so it's the coolest...

Don't be mean, get her one, won't be long and she'll be off your hands, then you'll miss her...... Pete

I've just upgraded my 5 to a 6+ and absolutely love it.

I don't think the Plus is too big, although I wouldn't want it any larger. It's nowhere near the size of an iPad Mini.

Battery life over my 5 is massively improved. I really can't think of anything about it that I don't like. Si. <This is my name.

Shocked I thought the upgrade to the 6 was the most significant of all the iPhone's i've had.

As she's into the Apple ecosystem, I think it's a good buy.

As said, they're quite slippery, so some sort of case isn't a bad idea - I have a super thin one, but it adds a bit of grip - It's the first phone I've ever put a case on.

Don't get me wrong it's good, but wouldn't call it a revelation over a 5 or 5s, apart from battery, but having had a charger case on the 5 for a year now the short battery life didn't really bother me as I could just click it to charge when it got a bit low! But going back to the 5 now it seems tiny, and the 4 is like a pocket toy!

One thing I can highly recommend is a hardened glass screen protector, so much better than a film one, and only a few quid. Once on you don't have to swap it every couple of weeks! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
