Further update and more progress.

I've been scouring the web on how to update the Satnav firmware and had resigned myself to sending it away as it seemed that although it is easy to get hold of firmware for a BMW the equivalent RR stuff was a dealer only item. I bought a BMW update disc but no joy. Then I stumbled upon the following thread on a BMW forum:

I followed the instructions on how to burn a copy and put it in the car and I now have fully functional sat nav .

The on board computer now has a series of dashes in it so I'm hoping it needs me to do some miles to gain some data to display.

I'm feeling pretty chuffed.
