Do any of the tech people on here know how to bypass the appleID activation screen.

I have acquired a used ipad2 (perfectly above board) but do not have access to the previous owners appleID rendering the device useless.

Can anyone help.

Apple won't help you, however there could be a message from the previous owner left within the id, but it basically needs to be released via iTunes, normally by the previous owner logging it out of their own ID via iCloud it then releases itself on your iTunes etc. there is some YouTube clip showing how to interrogate it and jump through, but I bet it involves some cash etc.

As said earlier is there a chance you can email the previous owner?
This is why a flat ipad at a boot sale is just a posh cake plate.
For a pound you can get a simplified check done to find if its blacklisted or stolen/reported you can do this on eBay for about £2,

I guess I'm telling you what you already know, but informing others here.

Have you done a full reset on it?

You cannot bypass.

It is "locked" on the apple servers. No external company can, and apple won't

Try to contact the owner. They can delete the iPad from their account on a different computer it they cannot get to you
