Possibly but its a very big possible. If its the original "Non Runner" engine that's been "Fixed" who knows what internal damage was done. Possible water damage is also a potential future nightmare. Add in 4X refurbs, new tyres, possibly new front lights.

buying without a warranty is better as then you are covered by your statuary rights for 6 months , if you buy it with a warranty ,say 3 months then your rights are waived....

Stan, there not going to sell it to a private buyer (retail) without a warranty they are not daft. They will only sell it TRADE without warranty and that excludes private buyers and any potential claims.

I think at 18k you could afford to plop another engine into it at worst but if you buy it private with a warranty then the engine issue could be claimed for under it could it not? FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
