could anyone tell me where the glow plug relay is please and possibly a part number for it?

further to above, i believe its in the engine bay 'ebox' big black box thing.

is there a layout diagram in there or does anyone have one to hand please. Cheers

Yep, in the big black box in the engine bay. It is at the front of the box towards the engine. I did something about this a while back when tackling glow plugs. If you don't hear / feel any clicking when you turn ignition to position 3 (don't try to start) then the relay is not functioning. If it does click it could be still not working. I had mine all apart but couldn't find anything wrong with it. You can get 2nd hand on ebay for @ �30-40, new they are @ �85.

All that said, unless you are in a really cold climate, you will never really need the glow plugs to start the car ( I only have three "working" now and car starts immediately even with a frost). If you have starting problems more likely to be fuel delivery or injectors.
