When you say "suspension units", do you mean struts?

There was a discussion about Chinese struts for the L322 on a German RR board recently - with an alibaba link.
I'm wondering if a new player has entered the market...

I was told it was front airbags as that was my issue. Not remotely technical but the round plastic bits you can see above the wheel where a shocker would be say BWI with an LR part number and L322 Front right/left indicator Thumbs Up

The air bags are generally integral to the struts - tho there are companies offering just bags in the aftermarket. It would be interesting to know where your indy sourced the parts and for you it would be important to know what was installed. If you received new Chinese struts and a damper starts leaking, you have to know that it should be covered under the guarantee you received for this job.

How much did you pay for the "units"? That might be a place to start.

This is a complete strut (damper and air bag)

And the link to the Chinese supplier http://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Whol...90762.html

This is a spring only

I have seen them at the New Product Section at SEMA 3 weeks ago. They do look identical to Delphi and Dunlop product.

Bear in mine there BIW produces the Evoque electro magnetic dampers for LR and more recent dampers too.

It would be useful to get the quote from them to ship a set. Note : all Alibaba "trade only" sellers will in fact sale to importers, trades, jobbers, as well as final customers, so do not hesitate to contact them if you wish to fit them yourself.

HOWEVER, I would really tend to use OEM or at least Delphi parts as they are period OEM elements, ( and most built in europe by european making a living - I tend to spend my cash in europe/France/UK as much as possible and invite you all to do the same thing Thumbs Up .) l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l

Hi Rosco,
Seems you have new Chinese struts then. I wouldn't worry. They are likely to be fine - everything is Chinese these days and as Verydisco posted above, they seem to come from a reputable manufacturer. The price you paid is OK. The OEM Delphis go for slightly less from the best sources and prob somewhat more from most others. See link below.

You do need to be aware that if the dampers start leaking at any point it is a guarantee case as well - not just if an airbag fails.

If you can, please post back in six months and a year from now. It will be interesting to see how these hold up. I know for instance, that the Dunlops had large problems with the strut bearings at the top of the unit and we're failing regularly. I would not have hesitated at all to install a Dunlop strut in my own car prior to knowing this. You may, quite possibly, be better off with your struts.

BWIGroup Damper and Airbag

Shop has fitted this one on my 2008 L322 and claims it is an original Land Rover spare part since

it has the Land Rover logo

and BWIGroup is now the manufacturer of these struts and air bags and it is not possible to procure Delphi (OEM) Land Rover parts anymore

anyone has a comment? would you believe?
