Changing the alternator

Last time I had an alternator changed it was a simple job.

But when it comes to a 2003 Range Rover

Whilst the alternator is being replaced we decided to change as many items as possible. The old radiator was starting to leak so that's being replaced. The water pump "may" have been replaced in the past, so that's being changed. Going to give it a thtourogh service including gearbox oil change. Don't want to eb doing this anytime soon.

So last week I was browsing ebay and found a 2010 bumper for sale. Well... as the lights/grill/bumper was off might as well update the look oft the car. Seemed to make sense at the time. Laughing

Ebay bumper picked up a few days ago...........

There was a slight oil leak coming from the cam covers, so those were taken of. Had them powder coated in red, not that anyone is ever going to see them except in pictures.

It's got an LPG conversion. here's a couple of pics of the engine install. We're going to tidy up teh working and make sure the system is all okay.

Only other problems with the RR is the CD multichanger doesn't open and the door mirrors don't close in. Thinking of an Alpine replacement for the screen/system but depends on budget.

Also quite fancy putting a V12 engine in it as well, but busy on another car project which is taking a lot longer than expected, so will put it on the back burner for now. Although it will probably be a Mercedes V12. Just have to find a doner car. And yes.... people always tell me I'm certifiable but it's great fun.. Mr. Green WARNING: Do not read this!!! Okay, you read it but make sure you don't read this bit.

I had the alternator replaced on my 07 TDV8 under warranty. They had the car 2 days. Not the easiest of things to get out apparently.
