It's not worth spending silly money on genuine LR brake pipes, they cost a fortune and then you have to bend them out of recognition to make them fit around everything and by the time you've done that the protective coating has cracked and rust will set in the first time they get wet.

These genuine pipes are perfect if you're removing everything from the vehicle to fit them, i.e. a body off job, if not then get your local garage to do the work making the new pipes with Kunifer as it's much easier to bend and shape and not only will it make a better job than steel but it won't rust again in a few years time

Pipes are cheap enough these days, a right pig to package them though.

much better like John said to have them made up by the garage You can paypal direct using - www.paypal.me/duckworthparts

Thank you. I need to take my side steps off to repair some damage. Can now see the way forward. Many thanks.

I agree with later post about bending the pipes cracking the coating, hence I have been hesitating to crack on with the job. My plan B was to cut the pipe and fit a joint, but hopefully I can avoid it now. 2014 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography & 2015 3.0SDV6 HSE Lux Discovery 4

Hi craig,

Not been to any garages except 1 for an mot, yes i agree maintenance is needed a year on with only 6,000 miles

added with no advisories but when you get it back with front and rear suspension issues plus replace all

brake lines i could have done what another forum member did and said go ahead and be a couple of grand

lighter but no i am going to another garage 10 miles away for a mere 2nd opinion and i am not going any further.

But the second garage did say if any suspension needs doing, that sometimes it would be better to replace other bits

as well.

I have no intention of not doing any work thats not needed but because my car looks mint from the outside and a garage is

playing games to earn more money then i will be taking pictures and getting trading standards and VOSA INVOLVED.

The camera is charged and ready for friday.

brake lines/ mot station

Hi Everyone.

Today i would say can be said has been an eye opener.

Went to LRS in Preston this morning at 8.30am for a inspection of my vehicle and 2 hours later with 2

drives out accompanied by there mechanic with 1 with the Autologic diagnostic tool attached the diagnosis

was not as K MOTORS HAD WRITTEN DOWN THE RIP OFF ...............

I was told my car was not road worthy, but LRS have had so many vehicles from owners who had gone to K Motors in Leyland.

My car i was told was in immaculate condition annd after the crow bar treatment and walk around underneath the vehicle the

only thing that could find was the the rear lower bushes had very very slight play on the offside, and it needed some wax oil

on the sills underneath.

As a bonus they also reset the adaptive settings in my gearbox and that has got rid of the slight thud i had now and then

in gears 1 to 2, but the Autologic Diagnostic faults said the gearbox had no faults.

This was all done for a cost of £60.

It is booked in for replacing the upper and lower hub bushes for monday and a mot.

i cannot stress how good they were and there knowledge was impeccable.

I would stress anyone in the North West to use them and there is no way i would go anywhere else ever with my FFRR.

Glad you're happy with their service as I've always been mate.

Good garages are very hard to come by and its good when you find one you can trust.

You live and learn Smile
