Guys,

For MOT's on the previous FF and Disco 3's etc. we've always just given them to the main agent who seem to do nothing but farm them out to an MOT station and then charge you for the privilege.

Was just wondering where you local Glaswegians take your FF's for MOT'ing? Would rather use someone with a recommendation and that knows the RR rather then just pitch up somewhere off the street.

I use Monarch Garage in Dalmarnock. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Had - 2007 S/C in Stornoway Grey

I say in the south side and I take my cars to Johnstone, have done for the past 28 years.
Not the fanciest of garages but they are honest and don't try to rip me off

I've heard good things about Monarch before as well.

With all my other cars I get them done at the main dealer whilst I wait, I'd like to do that with the FF as it's such a hassle going back for it. That's one thing that annoys me with the main agents, they phone you at 5pm to tell you that you're car is ready but they close at 5.30pm so getting there to get it back is nigh on impossible.

John @Monarch really knows his stuff and the added benefit is that it's within walking distance of Dalmarnock train station.

Accepting that you've mentioned a preference for testers with a recommended track record with the RR, local government MOT stations are reportedly one impartial way to go as another option:

Not much help for the OP, but when I'm working down south I use Motest (I've used Swindon and Reading branches). They schedule 1 hour slots so you can wait, and they don't charge anything if you fail. So you can take it there to check what needs doing foc. 2007 TDV8 Vogue SE Java Black

Well, change of plan altogether.

I've read nothing but good things about Team Valley Land Rover in Gateshead. Looking through the service history on my car they've done work on it before as well.

My sister lives on the outskirts of Newcastle so I've booked it into them and we'll have a trip down at the start of December.
