Hi everyone,

FFRR been for its mot this afternoon and apparently its failed on all the brake lines, front and rear.

Is this common and do i get a 2nd opinion on this, as i am very surprised

Looking through the service log - mine were done around 2009 (@ 64000 miles), car was new 2002 so 7 years sounds about right for yours Howard

had it three years and only do 6,000 miles per year.

not that, that makes a difference its got 83,000 on the clock

Had mine MOT'd on Monday and they had to replace all pipes, thats the second time in 120K miles they did need replacing

I use to like this forum PMSL.

ok so whats the general concensus on labour and total price for a independent garage to do them.

Its not unheard of, but if your having doubts, get it looked at elsewhere, but that will cost pennies.

Salb, I had the following done;

Front drop links, front bushes, o/s front susp airbag, all brake pipes, front pads.

£660 from an independent including MOT

Dont know the individual cost of pipes

Just stumped me as I'm always on this forum, the usual tv's on in the background

daughter on the iPad, mrs in kitchen and I'm on the settee reading.

But never saw a post on brake lines, they have said they will put it up on the ramp to show me.

When you get them done, get them to use Cuprinol pipe it is an alloy of copper and nickel and will never rust, they can remove the old pipes, make up pipes the same length and replace them easily, that way it's done for life... Pete

I don't even have a wooden fence.
