Having owned 5 Lotus, not sure I would agree with the quality control comment, not on modern Lotus anyway.

Having been in the V6 exige, that went like Censored off a shovel, now an M5 engine one, frighteningly quick, but I bet it is a Censored to get the power down 56 TDV8 Vogue SE

I have a car made by Lotus, and I have to say, they weren't made with maintenance in mind.

Give you an example. The brake servo hose perishes on these cars. The engine is at the back and the servo at the front, so the hose goes through the sill. So I get a garden hose attachment, and modify it a little.

I fix the old hose to the old hose to the new and then pull the old hose to draw the new hose through the sill.

Into the passenger compartment.

...and then out to the front.

This was the old hose.

...and this was the state of my hands after that little exercise.

Love mine though. Would definitely like the V6 Exige.
