yes, that is my post, they need to have 'legitimate' access with say, ignition on, so they ask to get 'the CORRECT paint code, via your port, you are loading the car, etc, and can't resist another 1/2 price free quote, so that your husband might never even know she dinked it! all part of the 'distraction'. you/she might even be sitting IN the drivers seat. i'm talking about a non-locked car here. just part of the ever increasing need for cars to actually have a 4 digit pin code. (with key.) linked to the seat sensor, if you get out at say, a pay and display, a couple of mystery cones, a fake corpse, car-jacking, he cant drive off, untill he enters code. (on steering wheel) beat them at their own game, get the bus! |

Ive not had anything to do with push button start keys yet (they must be uber reliable) but, when the older models had a key programmed, if the existing keys were not programmed with the new key it would render existing keys useless. Stopping dodgy garages/valet copying keys... Does this not happen with keyless go? |

I like the keyless entry and start/stop. Never take the key out of my pocket, harder to lose etc. Just wish the L322 also had the button on the doorhandle bit. However if all those conveniences mean that the car is less secure I'd prefer normal key type cars every single time (flip key though).

When we went to Gaydon last week they took us round in "new shape" D4's and when the driver got out with the smart key the D4 started beeping/bonging telling you on the display the Keyfob was now out of range...
