They do tend to die after a while, as the windscreens get older, they start to delaminate around the edges, this breaks the small wires running through the screen and stops it working... fix is a new screen...

Think the circuit may be split into two with a relay for each half so could be the relay, before I got a new screen mine used to be stripey when defrosting which was related to the elements breaking down |

Okay, thanks both - I'll have a hunt for the relays first off - any clues as to where they are? |

Mine was stripey, I just happened to get a crack up the screen and get it swapped by autoglass, now works fine.......
