OK so as some of you may remember my FFRR is in a container it arrives in the promised land OH yes it is

next week

The battery will probable have been disconnected since early September can I expect any funny things to happen

when its reconnected or will it all be good...........I would rather have no surprises at the docks

Take a nice backup battery with you or jump leads and another vehicle, i prefer diesels for this as they seem more stable.

Connect the old battery up with the drivers door left open in case it tries to self lock.

Leave it for a few minutes for everything to settle and then stick the jump leads on and leave the jump leads on for about 5-10mins before doing anything. This should make sure the battery is fully juiced up.
While this is going on I'd stick 1-2 jerry cans worth of fresh diesel in the tank as you'll likely have been asked to leave as little fuel as possible in it and fresh stuff is always best for a vehicle that's been left a while.

Then turn the key to the run position a few times to ensure the fuel system is fully primed.
Crank her over and let her idle for about 10-20seconds to get all the crud out of the exhaust that could have built up and let the idle stabilise.

Turn the steering wheel from full lock side to side. the suspension and error lights on the dash should all vanish.

Then take her for a nice good drive and when upto temp a good thrash as well so the ECU can relearn the engines state incase it has been wiped at all. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Charging a flat battery is really hard on the alternator. It can cause them to fail. Above advice to leave a charge on it for as long as possible is very good. If you have a charger and can give it a few hours, even better. Rest of above advice excellent, especially a nice, long run at speed to make sure everything is topped up.

What will be pulling the trailer as the ff is at least 2600kg + I'd say at least 800kg for a decent trailer?

Also you could rig up a lead from the other towing socket to provide juice to the battery while you are towing as it's always live Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

my other FF TD6, will be doing the horse work on this occasion. once I get it back home it can go on the charger for a couple of days on trickle, that should bring it back OK if indeed it wont go.

But with any luck the old girl will fire up and be fine
