Who lays claim to it

Reading through a few posts over the years different people in different areas claim that they live in Gods Country .......

So , where exactly is it and who claims it to be their part of the world .... Whistle

In the beginning, The Lord God Almighty, sitting on His throne on high, turned to His mate, the Archangel Gabriel and said "Gabby, today I'm going to create Scotland. I will make it a country of dark beautiful mountains, purple glens and rich green forests. I will give it clear swift flowing rivers and I will fill them with salmon. The land shall be lush and fertile, on which the people shall grow barley to brew into an amber nectar that will be much sought after the world over. Underneath the land I shall lay rich seams of coal.In the waters around the shores there will be an abundance of fish and beneath the sea bed there will be vast deposits of oil and gas".
"Excuse me Sire", interrupted the Archangel Gabriel, "Don't you think you are being a bit too generous to these Scots"?"Not really", replied the Lord, "wait 'til you see the neighbours I'm giving them".

Yorkshire people think it's Yorkshire.

I'm from Yorkshire but I never believed it.

surely, if you believe in God then don't you have the misbelief that he made the entire world, so surely all of it is God's country..... Pete

As Princess Anne said to me a few weeks ago at Gatcombe Horse Trials upon hearing my Scottish burr "not another f&%(ing missionary".

So she believes it is Jockland.

I now cant hear myself over the sound of that name being dropped Rolling with laughter

I built our barn from scratch (without a kit) - the whole lots of it. However, there are bits I consider MINE (workshop area, spares storage, tools etc) but the rest I consider OURS.

I guess it is the same with our lord - whilst he will no doubt be proud of his achievements there will still be the important bits he considers his own.

Hence I have to repeat SCOTLAND Thumbs Up

No, because most of the world worships the wrong God - so God will punish them, even though he created them.

....no wait?

Funny how you never really fully know a place. I thought I'd travelled around most of Scotland but I've never come across anywhere called Wales or Lancashire up here!! Rolling with laughter

New Zealand 2010 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC V8 Galway Green

My money is still on the land of the long white cloud. As a good friend of mine put it : "New Zealand is all of Europe in a single country".

They have it all, not too many people living there so plenty of space. The only problem is too many pastures and too much poison (pesticides and 1080) unfortunately. If the land use is reduced and the use of pesticides and 1080 replaced by more evironmentally smart methods, NZ is the perfect place.

Oz is great but largely too dry and too many poisonous animals and too big to enjoy all of the natural wonders easily. Scotland is lovely but the climate is crap. The US beautiful country just a pity there are sooooo many idiots living in it.

Africa is gorgeous as well, anyone who has been to Southern Africa can vouch for that. Even Nigeria (Southern part is the only part I'v seen) is beautiful, unfortunately there is just too much misery going on to ever enjoy it. South Africa is absolutely gorgeous but too dangerous. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

May I counter you with - Scotland doesn't have earthquakes like the ones to hit Christchurch in recent years. A friend and colleague was just driving away from a customers down there as the big-one hit. He had no idea but when he got to the airport pictures of the places he had just left being shaken all over were flashed on the TVs!!!

Climate in Scotland is perfect if you farm midges and ducks! Rolling with laughter
