Does anyone know what the Sport setting exactly does? Does it act on the gearbox and the suspension or just the gears (holding the gears longer and shifting down earlier).
Some reviews stated it acted on the suspension firming everything up but from my experience it doesn't feel like it and going through the owner's manual they only mention it acting on the gearbox not the suspension.

It's supposed to change a few things, but you should notice as you say the increased rev's per gear up or down range/engine braking, etc.

So better response with paddle shift on twisty roads at speeeeeed!!

Certainly you should feel all the road bumps etc. as everything stiffens up (suspension of course), or you should do.

ARC comes more in to play and if you have the electronic rear diff. then you will also feel a benefit with that before all hell breaks loose.

Depends where and how you drive and as the mood or conditions take you. If it's good roads or motorways, then you may well only notice the in gear rev. variation as you described.

I don't notice any change in the suspension settings. Gears yes, suspension no. No mention of suspension changes in the owner's manual either.

I think CSK is correct. I looked into this a while ago and concluded that on the L405 sport just alters gear changes, nothing else. After my first year of ownership spent entirely in Drive, I now always use Sport. Much smoother acceleration and doesn't seem to affect fuel economy much (poor v slightly poorer).

Are you driving V6 or V8's?

No dynamic setting on the L405's TR system I'm afraid.
I find the chassis/suspension set up very well resolved on this car. Even in D the gearbox kind of adapts to your driving style and type of road. Sport mode is holding the gears unnecessarily so I use it only if I want to change gear with the paddles only.

Think Ive used S mode once, Id rather leave in D and use the paddles as and when.

At least on the 494 sport and the evoke when you put the car into sport it displays the gears in a big circular graphic on the dash. I cant see the benefit on the 405. '14.5 SDV8 Nara Bronze for sale
